Breathwork is a simple yet powerful tool to alleviate stress and anxiety, mobilize the immune system, energize your body and improve overall cognitive functioning. It is accessible to everyone and can be practiced anywhere.

1. Integrative Psychiatry
A fusion of conventional medicine and pharmaceutical treatments with holistic mind-body modalities, nutritional counselling to promote long term well-being. We strive to identify and treat the underlying causes and contributors to symptoms of depression, anxiety, brain fog, fatigue, obesity, insomnia, burnout, and other contemporary health conditions.
Achieving harmony between the brain and body is essential to whole body wellness and optimal wellness is the goal. Our functional medicine approach identifies and treats core imbalances which affect your brain, body, and quality of life.
We will explore the symptoms you are having and look into all aspects of your life to understand how these symptoms came to fruition and determine what is out of balance. Lara firmly believes our natural state is to be healthy, happy and fulfilled; anything less is signifying something is out of balance.
2. wellness Coaching
Wellness is fueling your body, engaging your mind, and nurturing your spirit. You can’t get there passively, it requires active awareness, acceptance, and commitment through choices you make every day no matter how small.
Wellness Coaching helps clients to identify values and strengths, set meaningful wellness goals such as changes in diet or physical exercise, and co-create a plan to set goals into action.
Whether it is realizing a dream, shifting into a new career, finding that perfect relationship, refocusing life goals or working to improve physical and emotional health, Lara Kain, PA-C, MPAS, helps clients target where they are getting stuck in their life, then helps them to reframe their vision to achieve a richer, more fulfilling life.
3. Breathwork
While breathing practices have been around for centuries, science is beginning to provide evidence that the benefits of this ancient practice are real. Studies have found that breathing practices can help reduce symptoms associated with stress, headaches, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and attention deficit disorder as well as improve functioning in heart and lung diseases, irritable bowel syndromes and many autoimmune illnesses.
The practice of mindful breathing aims to increase lung function and oxygen saturation as well as help the body move stuck energy through the system. At TORCH Wellness sessions are usually an hour to an hour and a half, with 30-45 minutes of that time spent alternating between coached breathing techniques and relaxed, natural breathing. People who practice breathwork describe feeling tingling sensations throughout their body, feelings of clarity, alertness, increased mind-body connection, and even emotional purging. Through mindful breathing we gain a deeper sense of self awareness, and learn to develop the skills of resilience through patience, understanding and compassion.
We are thrilled to announce we are treating Covid-19 long haulers who are experiencing difficulty breathing, lethargy and brain fog. Early studies are showing breathwork for these patients is having remarkable positive benefits to overall functioning. It’s very safe, very accessible, and easy for anyone to do.
